House Post

So we are slowly, but surely, getting there on completing some of the rooms in our house. Not one room is completely done, but there are a couple that are 90%. Maybe you kind readers can help a sister out! Today I will stick with the upstairs. Mine and Justin's room has some green and turquoise in it. I need to tie them together though. Thoughts on a paint color or wall decor??? None of the furniture matches at this point, so I've been looking for a set, or for pieces on Craigs list or something, that I can paint all the same...

 Master Bathroom.
Im thinking I'll either paint this the same as the bedroom, or maybe just a neutral taupe. Excuse my sweet child washing her hands in this pic. =)
Nursery. As you can tell I've done a LOT in here...oh wait. Ive dont NOTHING! I think I've picked out bedding though, thus I've picked out paint. If the bedding works, that is...The room will basically look completely different in just a few short weeks. And then, oh yea, it'll be occupied =)
Kennedy's Room
This room is 90% complete. And oh yes, its PINK! I'll probably continue to rearrange frames, and nik naks for the next few weeks until I get them just right, but the big stuff is done. I have ordered a curtain for the window that goes to the floor. Dont worry, Im not leaving that little one there that is hung too high =)

Over the table I want to put a tension rod of sorts so Kennedy can display and hang her "artwork"
 reading corner
 Big Girl Bed
Still need some way of putting her name up. I have the letters from her nursery, but they are just sitting there on the headboard bc Im not sure I want to use them again in this room. They still match, but I could always go with just her initial(s)...we'll see...
lastly, the guest room. It's basically our old bedroom. Havent painted or hung anything on the walls yet. Feel free to come and enjoy this room though! Friends are most certainly welcome!
I havent done anything to the area upstairs, or the girls/guest bathroom.
Low on the priority list I suppose.

Well, thats a little tour of the upstairs. Any advice or changes you can suggest are most appreciated! I will NOT get my feelings hurt if you suggest I change something  (unless you are a total jerk and say super mean things.) I am no interior decorator, fo sho. I'll get to the downstairs tour later this week. Have a blessed week everyone!

a very happy valentine's day

I like Valentine's day. I dont get all mushy, but I love a good nudge to go and have a fun night out and to do something special for one another. Justin went to work yesterday and I went to work getting his gift together. He is CRAZY about our bank acct and checks it just about every 30 minutes. He doesnt even have to follow me on gowalla or twitter bc he can see everywhere I am just by checking Bank of America. Ridiculous. Therefore, I had to wait til the very last minute to purchase his present. He had mentioned a few weeks ago wanting to get some tickets to the AAA baseball team here. They are the Rays affiliate and well, he and the Rays have a special relationship. Apparently he had been thinking on the way home from work that day that we should get a ticket for each of us to some games and that would be a good v day gift for him, and well, that is exactly what he opened when he walked in. He didnt even remember that in passing he had mentioned it, and was so surprised that I would think of buying that. Major wife points! I was so happy that he liked it =) I tried to get him a shirt or hat for the games, and spent a good while at the mall looking for one, but did not find anything. While at the mall, I realized that my child has officially entered the terrible 2's and that I will NEVER mall shop again without a stroller. I didnt mean to forget it, I just didnt realize Justin took it out of my car. Kennedy wanted to stop and look or play on every little toy. I had even already bought her a balloon to carry around and I let her ride the carousel, but it just wasnt enough for her. When I asked her to come on and hold my hand she laid on the ground and began screaming. I couldnt believe this was happening to me...The funny thing was, I didnt have the strength or energy to care. By this point, my hands were full, I was tired and had to use the bathroom. She eventually got up and walked with me, but I definitely realized that she needs to be confined when surrounded by so many options of stuff to do, bc she wont listen to me. She has her mind made up, and being a "good girl" and "good listener" are not important to her. Overall we did have a good morning. I was happy to be home for nap time at the end of it though.

hanging out at Story Time
baby girl is getting big =)

When Justin got home, we exchanged gifts and then hung out til Kennedy woke up. We then drove over to Durham and got a table at a place called Ted's Montana Grill. Neither of us had been there before and it looked to be good. Luckily it was a great experience! The food was yummy, the atmosphere was fun and we had a good family date night.
 Our bison burger
I worked hard on my wiki stick buffalo

afterwards, we went in the mall to let Kennedy play on their indoor play area. She always has such fun there, and its nice for me to get a chance to sit down and relax a bit. She made a new friend too, his name was Daniel. They were so cute playing together...I wanted to take him home!

we ended the night with a delicious piece of cheesecake from the factory itself. Can you believe I didnt get key lime??!?! This one was amazing though. So yummy with my glass of milk =)

sadly I forgot to take even one picture with my valentine =(
I did get some with my other lovies though =)

Kennedy likes to kiss her little sister
oh fred. you are always up in my bitness...
