Snow Days

well the past two days the Manny family has been snowed in. It has been pretty amazing to be with my two favorite people and do whatever we want, at home, that is. I have Kennedy to myself all day everyday, but Justin doesn't get days like that with her. I know its sounds dumb but I love being at home with my baby, all day, with no where to go. I am on the go a lot with all the kiddos I take care of and so I dont have a whole lot of days just playing at home with my girl. We had so much fun yesterday and today doing that with her. She is the sweetest thing and I really could just watch her all day long on her playmat, or sitting on Justin's lap while he gets work done, or in her new little exersaucer. (Exersaucer note, we did get one, and it was given to us by the people across the street. So the hunt is off, and the consumer reports no longer need to be read. I got one.) So Im pretty sure that tomorrow is not another snow day, but it was fun while it lasted.

Here is just a random list of things to we did with our snow days!
1. Drinking coffee and having good conversations with my husband
2. Watching random movies, like Funny Farm
3. Having a snow ball fight with Justin and Fred.
4. Cleaning and organizing things I've put off for too long.
5. another random movie, Sleeping Beauty, did I mention the dish went out?
6. Playing with Kennedy alllll day long! and her getting to nap in her crib, we are never here for that...
7. Attempting to build a snow man, and then realizing Im a floridian that has no idea how to do it.
8. Watching my sweet husband shovel multiple neighbors driveways and sidewalks and falling more in love with him
9. Random movie update, Narnia
10. Making good meals of which I wouldn't because my meals are usually rushed bc I get home late and have the baby
11. Snuggling
12. Crafting
13. Update the ole blog and give it a well needed face lift =)
14. and of course, looking at all the beautiful snow, I still get excited and think its so pretty =)

well thank you snow for the nice days off and home with my family! back to life tomorrow...

long weekends are my favorite

So the past two weekends have been long weekends for me, always a good thing! Last weekend for MLKJ day, my parents and lovely friends the van der Merwe's came to visit. It was such a great time being able to have them loving on us and Kennedy. We were majory spoiled with love and of course, goodies from nanny. We went to target and babies r us and got Kenendy some toys and a lightweight stroller, of which I took an hour and half picking out. Kristi was very helpful. I seriously pulled every kind off the display, pushed it around, opened it, closed it, saw how you carry it, looked at the basket size. It was ridiculous. Im just really picky with my purchases these days. Im needing to get Kennedy an exersaucer type thing and am looking into all those way to seriously. Justin says just pick one and i need to read consumer reports and let her sit in each one to determine what is best. You may say Im over thinking it. We dont even need her next stage car seat for like another 9 months and Ive been checking those out too...need to be prepared.

Anyway, the weekend was too short to spend the kind of time I wanted to with our good friends and wonderful parents, but it was something, and for that Im grateful. My mom is sooo good with Kennedy. I always feel like Im the only one who can take good care of her, sometimes justin just doesnt know how to hold her or what she is wanting, but it seems that both her grandma's can handle it, maybe its a woman thing, or a mom thing. I like that though. Its comforting when I have one of them around bc I know they can take care of her, and dont mind if she does just scream in their face.

Side note: dont you think scrame should be a word? I use it a lot, as the past tense of scream, and Justin says im stupid, but it totally sounds like it should be a word. Screamed just sounds weird to me. As in "She scrame for like an hour."

I mostly loved getting to share my favorite thing with my favorite people, Kennedy and her growing self. i loved that they were here to watch her play on her tummy and laugh and make her REALLY cute noises. its not just a story I tell them, they are watching it with me, and that is so much better. We also got in a good double date night with the VDM's and some yummy meals with everyone. Thanks for coming! It was such a great weekend!

Well, this weekend is going to be a long one too. I never work on Mondays, and I didnt have to work today, and Justin is off on Fridays, so we started the weekend early! This morning we all slept in til 945! It was awesome. And we woke up to the sound of KP laughing and cooing in her crib. We just laid in our bed holding hands with the biggest grins on our faces, both saying how much we love her. She is so amazing and it never gets old. we later ran a bunch of errands and grabbed lunch and then checked out a couple new stores in town and then walked the mall. It was so fun watching Justin carry KP all around in her Bjorn. Babies really are chick magnet. Every girl that passed him talked to him and commented on her. They were really cute though, i love my family =) Later when we came home we got Fred and all went for a walk up to the village bc it was 60 degrees today! I couldnt believe it! Tomorrow the high is like 28, so we HAD to take advantage. It was just such a beautiful day and I felt so blessed to be where I am with the people Im with.

Well, ill upload some photos soon. My camera is too far away and Im lazy, plus its time for a little dream feed for the babe, and then off to bed. Have a great weekend!

Christmas recap

ok, so real quick while she is chilling in her swing before bed time, a christmas post =)

Christmas was so fabulous. We started our Christmas vacation a little early because my great lifelong friend Merry Beth was getting married on the 19th so we headed down to Pensacola on the wednesday before so I could be there for all the pre wedding festivities. it was such a blast doing all of that with MB and I was also able to see so many wonderful friends while we were in town bc so many of my friends were there for the holidays. The wedding was so beautiful and soooo sweet. Those two are just amazingly in love and it is just precious. Here just a couple pictures from that.

So after the wedding we had a baby shower on that sunday for my friend heather. Kennedy is so excited about her new friend Lyla, as am I. Heather is one adorable preggers. Well we were planning to head to Jacksonville after the shower but instead stayed around that night and left the next morning. We stopped in tallahassee and reminisced about the college days, had some momo's pizza, got Justin some new florida state basketball shorts, and then made our way to Jacksonville finally.

It was so good to see the Manny's. We hadn't seen them since KP was born, except for Myra when she came to Cincy. I was glad KP got to see her poppa flo and aunt's too this time! We had such a great Christmas, we got sooo very spoiled, ate way toooo much, and went to DISNEY! It was such an awesome, long, unforgettable trip to FL! I think the best part was just having so many of the people that I love finally meet my new best friend. I love her soooo very much and was so glad to finally be able to share her with others I love =)
on Christmas Eve, loving our girl =)
