bike rides

Well I was really looking forward to my first bike ride with Kennedy, but it did not go as planned. I got an awesome bikeseat at a yard sale for only 5 bucks. It has all the pieces, bolts, and screws, etc. Somehow though, it does not fit the any of the bikes we have at our disposal. Can you believe it? Not one! It took Justin an hour to finagle it onto one, and it was so uncomfortable for me because I couldnt even sit. I did feel a little better though when I went over to a friends house and saw her bike seat and asked how they got it on. Her husband said it took him forever, and it doesnt really fit right, but its on there. Same deal. So therefore, i conclude these bike seats are dumb, because they do not fit most standard bikes. What in the world.

So since it took Justin an hour to get it on, by the time we left, Kennedy LITERALLY, fell asleep two minutes down the road and I rode back with her head on my back and her completely asleep. So cute, but very hard to ride like that. She wasnt too fond of it at first, but eventually she liked it, and eventually it put her sound asleep. I would like to try again, but Im not too sure it will work unless I find a bike the seat works on. Oh well, it was fun while it lasted. for two minutes =)

fun at the Splash Park

Last weekend my friend Jenny and I took our little girlies to a little splash park in town. Its super hot here and so its always good to be at a place where you can be all wet and get relief from all this heat! Its a cute little water park with a big slide and fun stuff for the bigger kids and a little squirt park for the preschoolers and toddlers. Kennedy mainly just sat there watching all the bigger kids and crawled around a little bit, but it being all concrete I wasnt too keen on that idea. She did really enjoy the water though. I love my water baby =)

Kennedy loves the big kids, and the big kids love her. This little girl just kept coming over and talking to KP and asking if she could hold her. I held off on letting her do that since she was a wet little baby and so very slippery...
The babies were pooped by the end of it all and so ready for some naps

Baby Dedication Sunday

I am WAY behind so Im going to attempt to keep up a little better this week. Of course, I cant start without mentioning that I think its crazy that Michael Jackson is really gone. To this day I get so pumped when MJ is on the radio and turn it up SO loud and yesterday I got to listen to all the hits on my drive out to the church camp. He was a musical genious and an incredible entertainer.

So, onto other news, pertaining to Kennedy of course =) Sunday was not only Father's Day, but baby dedication at Mt Carmel. We dedicated our sweet girl to whatever God has planned for her, and promise to show her the love of God as best we can. Justin probably thought I was crazy, but I took it very seriously. It wasnt just a photo opp and a chance to stand in front of the whole church with her in a cute outfit. I was really nervous about it. I mean, what if I dont really like what God has planned for her. What if it causes me pain, or her pain, or it just stinks in my opinion. Am I really recognizing that she is God's child first?? All of this went through my head and I wanted to sincerely say that I entrust her life and where she goes to God. After much prayer I was able to realize that God chose me to be her mother here on earth but that first and foremost she belongs to Him and I want Him to use her the way He wants to, and not the way that I see fit. That's all I ask for her, that she will fall madly in love with her creator and follow wherever He leads, even if its scary, or seems wacko.

However, we did take pictures =) laduh...and sorry they are so fuzzy, mom was not so close and it was low lit and whatnot.

She was just a jibber jabbering up there, so hilarious
Praying over our sweet girl
I thought it was cute how she looked right at nanny taking pictures

My mom has been in town and I have been working full time and going out to sing for Jr High camp, therefore, I have been slacking on blogging and photo uploads, but I have tons, so I will get around to it very soon. I hope everyone has a great weekend!

my baby daddy's first father's day

So yesterday was Justin's very first Father's Day! It wasnt a day filled with Justin and KP playing all day, but we did get to see him for a bit. Our church is putting on a JR High Camp this week and Justin has to do all the tech and so he was busy yesterday getting everything ready. We did get to go out to lunch at Quaker Steak, one of Justin and dad's fave places. Justin bugged me a lot to get him the new iPhone for father's day and right when I was about to cave he starts talking about how its ok, he doesnt need it and he can wait until we get some stuff taken care off, blah blah blah. Therefore, I did not get him one, so a car wash mitt, and Gran Torino it was! My favorite part of gift giving anyway is the packaging and I LOVE buying cards. Kennedy and I did a little handprint in jaguar teal on the bag and we each gave him cute cards so that made it a little more special since I just got him a bluray and a mitt.Justin and Papa
The father's and our girl!
Family photo!im so lucky to have justin as my sweet husband and I know Kennedy will grow up knowing how lucky she is to have him as her daddy. He loves her soooo much and I love him even more bc of how he is with her and loves her. Its just so sweet. I know I feel so lucky to have an awesome dad and an awesome father in law. I hope all you other dads had a Happy Father's Day!

i think i may start to like yard saling

last weekend a friend of mine invited me to come along with her and some other gals from church to a HUGE neighborhood yard sale. Now, I've never really been a yard saler per say, but there were a couple things I had been wanting, and thought maybe i could find them so I gave it a shot. Nothing against yard sales, i just dont have the patience to look through stuff and have an open mind in using random stuff for something AWESOME, like a lot of you crafty creative people do. So anywho, I had three things on my list: a bike seat (the girls I nanny really want to go bike riding and Im in need of a seat for Kennedy so I can ride with them) a play table (because my little girl loves to just stand and I thought she might as well stand at something entertaining) and a wagon (for pulling her around in for fun)

Well, Im happy to say that I found two of those items and a few other things that I just had to have. I think I may like the ole yard sale circuit after all =)

Well here are my purchases of the day that Im super proud of!

The bike seat, for FIVE dollars! Now we can go bike riding, if I can remember how to ride a bike, that is...
This table was my favorite find of the day. I was looking for one at every garage sale bc I just really wanted her to have one to play with! I looked at Target and they are $40 new, and this one was $2, and it is in perfect condition, even with new batteries! and she LOVES it! and Im glad its Leap Frog, bc everything else we have is FPrice, and Im pretty sick of the same songs and voices on EVERYTHING!!!!
And last but not least, a Baby Boggan! It was an impulse purchase but it was only $3I cant wait for it to snow. YES i did just say that!!!!

Now for my favorite products that you will need after purchasing "used" items...
thank you clorox =)

Crazy Eight

Kennedy is 8 months old! Ah! That's right, on Saturday she turned 8 months, and I know I say this EVERY month, but I really just cant believe it. This last month has definitely been the month full of changes and growth and development, and it was all so crazy. When she turned seven months, she couldn't crawl, stand herself up, say ma ma, wave...but somewhere between 7 and 8, things have changed. It has been so wild around here. I am constantly moving things down to the basement bc we always discover something else that she is trying to get into. I also clean up a billion times a day. She pulls all this stuff out of baskets and bins and drawers, and then when I lay her down for naps, or at night, I clean it all up, or else then Fred gets into it, and when know what happens when Fred "discovers" new "toys." Or should I say Chew Toys...

So here are some pictures of our growin' girl on her 8 month birthday!

My sweet little ladybug

Take me out to the ballll game...

Well this weekend Justin and I decided to try and sell some of our stuff in order to declutter the basement, and of course, make a little dough. Justin asked how much I thought we would make, I said maybe $20. He said he just wanted to make enough to get some big macs. So when we hit 19 bucks, he headed to McDonalds. It was still early, so he said he wanted to make enough to go to the baseball game and said we needed about $30 to go to the game. We make $33 more! we planned to go that night but didnt make it, so we went on Sunday and it was a blast. Kennedy liked it i think, and it was fun to take her to her first game! She was super cute in her little red and white outfit, and I realized she didnt have a bow, so at 7am, before we left for church, i made a lil bow for her to wear...i know, im crazy. here are some shots from our fun Sunday afternoon!we are finally at the stadium! and I think she is excited

with Rosie Red! I dont think she was too fond of her tholeaving the game, and she was POOPED
well Im off to the first gathering of our little Mommy and Baby group. Have a great week everyone!

who's crawling now???

My sweet little kennedy is deciding its fun to start screaming her head off in the middle of the night. This is both frustrating and heartbreaking. I cant tell what is wrong with her, but I do know that she DOES NOT want me to leave her. Last night I tried so hard to get her calmed down and then the minute I would start to walk away she would start screaming again and roll back over and sit back up and just look at me crying her eyes out as though I had just done something horrible. Finally I got her calmed back down and it seemed as though she was going to drift off, but I didnt want to risk it, so when she started rubbing her eyes, I hit the deck fast. I thought since she didnt see me slowly walk away would make it better...??? Anyway, I didnt know if she had opened her eyes or not so just to be safe. I crawled all the way out of her room and out the door and shut the door from all fours. As I was sitting on the floor outside her room, I had to giggle thinking of all the crazy, ridiculous things a woman does, once becoming a mom. From changing her in odd places, to nursing her at the Magic Kingdom while watching Mickey's Philharmagic, to crawling slowly and quietly out of her room at 215 am...the things we do.

Well its almost the weekend, can you feel it? I just love weekends because we are all off work for a couple days and there is nothing I love more than us all being together. Hopefully it will be sunny, it has been nasty lately here, but I think the sun wants to pay me a visit. I just want to let Kennedy play in her pool a little more. She obviously LOVES it!
