Staycation at Pcola Beach

We had such a great time this past weekend at the beach. It was so nice to have a little R&R with my hubby. Friday I decided to have a day all to myself, which Im not sure when the last time I have done that is. I dropped Kennedy off at my parents that morning and then ran errands, Hobby Lobby, Publix, that sort of thing, and then headed out to the beach. I wanted some time out there by myself before Justin got off and came out to meet me. I mean, Im good company for myself, if I do say so...I put away some of the groceries I had bought, worked out in the gym for a bit, sat by the pool for a couple hours, walked the beach for a while, and then came back and took a nice long shower just in time for Justin to get there and take me to dinner. It was perfect.

We had a long, yummy dinner, which was so nice to just sit and stare out at the beach and enjoy a meal, sans toddler needing to be fed and entertained. I did miss her, but it was nice to have a stress free meal. We took our time, and even got dessert! Which was AMAZING =) I love saving room for dessert. Afterwards we walked around the boardwalk and then headed back to the condo so we could take a walk on the beach before it got dark. Then we headed upstairs and played Super Mario Bros Wii until my fingers got cramped up and I just couldnt play anymore...dont worry Princess Peach, I will rescue you evenutally...
Saturday we woke up and I was adamant about going for a bike ride on the island. I always see people cycling around and well, I wanted to be one of those people! We got on our bikes and first rode to see my Aunt Joann at her boat. She owns a Dolphin Cruise's co. called Chase N Fins and so I knew she would be out trying to use whatever weekends of nice water we have left. We hung out with her for a little bit and she signed us up for the 5 o clock time while we were there too!
We rode our bikes down to Fort Pickens, just the front gate, which was already about a miles. Justin wanted to go onto the Fort, but I was just hoping I could make it back, much less go farther and then have to turn around and come back...good heavens...
I have decided that now I want a beach cruiser. Maybe like this pink one, but with a basket, bc if you noticed, Im carrying a shoulder bag, or as Justin called it, my European leather satchel. A basket would have been much better.
We headed back to our room, but not before getting a cold slushy for this momma. Bike riding makes me thirsty, and it makes my butt hurt, but I did have SO much fun! We went for a swim and relaxed by the pool before heading back to the boat for the dolphin cruise.

The cruise was AWESOME. We saw SO many dolphins and they were incredible and beautiful and so very playful =) They really are the most beloved sea life...however I really enjoy sea turtles and manatees as well. In case you were wondering, which Im sure you were.
After the cruise, we met my parents and my sweet baby K, at Crabs. I was so excited to see my girl! it had been a day and a half people! I LOVE HER! It was nice to have her back =) I wanted to have Sunday to play at the pool and beach with her so it was great that my parents brought her out to us.
Sunday we all slept in and then went down to the pool before packing up and heading out. My baby looovvvees the water, but we eventually got her out and ready to leave.

who is that naked baby?!?!?

We went down to Fort Pickens before leaving the beach bc like I told you, Justin wanted to go see it, and be educated about it. It was 97 degrees, but we toughed it out for at least 15 minutes while my husband walked around and read all the plaques. I hope he feels more knowledgeable...

I love mini vacations, even if they are in my own city. We had fun being touristy and seeing the sights...and I do have to say, I like hanging out with my husband =) he's the funnest

Nemo! Nemo!

well, Bolt is not completely phased out, but Nemo is a front runner for sure. Here is Kennedy at lunch on Father's day calling her little friend...

Also, when I put on our Nemo hat we have, I make the sucky fish face and then do my cheeks like gills...she apparently picked up on that, and I LOVE making her do the "fishy face"

better late than never

Ive had a few things Ive been meaning to journal about, but have just been too lazy to sit down and type it all out, much less attach a cord from my camera to my computer and click upload...but Im getting around to it. I even have a post about my cutie patootie 20 month old, and well, she turned 20 months over a week ago and I have yet to post that one up...

tonight we will stick to father's day I assume, and maybe eventually, I'll go back to my growing girl...

Father's Day was great fun for this fam! We went to church and then to the Crab Trap for lunch. I LOVED the food and the gorgeous atmosphere at that place. It was especially nice sitting right next to the fish tank, which had its own little Nemo in it. Kennedy has seen Nemo one time, and it was about 2 months ago. All of sudden she is obsessed with Nemo due to the fish tank at Crab Trap and Justin telling her that "that orange one is Nemo." She wouldnt stop talking about Nemo all night, so we wondered if she remembered the movie or something. Justin popped it in on Sunday and now we have watched it the past two nights as well...its the new Bolt guess...oh brother...

Happy Father's Day!
I swear she would have jumped in the tank if she could get in...
We Love Papa!

ok, this next photo is for Jo, who sat on the phone with me while, in my frustration to line up the dots, I completed my ribbon holders =)  ha

Video Week-Day 2

This video is from our most recent trip to Jacksonville. Kennedy was workin hard with that water pail, trying to fill up a cup. Her papaw was sweet to help. You need the sound up loud to her saying, "Thank you papaw" and "more" every time he hands it to her...it was so sweet hearing her say it..."thank you papaw"

love her

again, I dont know what was up with the videos when watching them on Safari yesterday, but today they seem to be working fine! if it for some reason doesnt work today, I think they are working fine on all other internet browsers...

Video Week

I dont know if you can tell from my lack of posting, but I havent really been in a bloggy mood lately, or had anything I felt like writing about. I did get my camera back, but while it was at the doctor, I had to use my old camera. The old one had a video option that my big one doesnt, so I found my self taking lots of videos =) I decided since I dont feel like writing this week, I will just share my funny videos with you!

Todays video is of Kennedy "swimming" for the first time "alone." She may or may not be looking ridiculous bc she has on a swim vest AND swim wings...forgive me for being a cautious obsessively overprotective mom =) Also, I had to watch it on Firefox because Safari wouldnt work, just a heads up...

Ideas for Father's Day

So I have been surfin' the web for some good ideas for Father's Day. I thought, since Im such a good blogger friend and all, that I would share them with everyone. Spread the love...

I think these are ADORABLE. They would be so fun to have at your Father's Day supper. There are bow ties available too. I found these at bakeitpretty.com My husband really loves mustaches, so I really want to get this first cookie cutter...

This was on Martha, oh Martha, you never disappoint. But how CUTE to wrap gifts this way! Just grab a few from your own man of the houses closet =)

Now for gift ideas...I had a request for "photo" gifts from my own dad, and have already completed that. My husband got an early birthday/father's day gift a couple weeks ago, so he's covered too.
and because this picture is so funny...here's another from his iPad day...I think Kennedy likes it too!

For other fun and unique ideas, head over to Martha. I just know it's hard to buy gifts for guys sometimes, so here's my attempt to lend a helping hand...

weekend in pictures

A busy but very fun weekend with my family!

Friday Justin had to work late, so me and Kennedy went downtown and played in the water at Plaza De Luna. She was more interested in all the pigeons than the water splashing out of the ground. It was fun either way. I just wasnt thinking we needed to drive downtown to play with the rats of the air...blerg

Saturday we all slept in to about 930, which was AWESOME. I couldnt believe my baby girl let me do that! Pancake Saturday was spiffed up by my purchase of BOGO whipped cream at Publix this week =)

Afterwards we made a spontaneous decision to go to the beach, considering we arent too sure how much longer it will be very fun to go to...darn oil...It was nice though, a little cloudy, which I like since I have a pale skinned baby girl.
one crew of men I saw cleaning up stuff, however I never saw any oil, or tar
here are a few pictures down in the water, still no sighting of the tar balls
I dont know if you could tell from those, but the water is still looking pretty good...

After the beach, we came home and Kennedy took a good long nap. It was thundering and raining like crazy, so Justin and I sat in the living room just listening to the rain and reading our current books. It was soooo nice to relax to the sound of rain with a good read after a fun morning at the beach! When K finally woke up, we went to Red Robin to get Justin's free birthday burger. I wanted the free ice cream love embarrassing Justin, and Kennedy loves when people sing happy birthday, so I made sure they were aware it was his bday =)

Sunday we came home after church and grilled out and then headed to the nephews birthday party. Ben and Brett had some water slides set up, and the kids LOVED it and I loved watching them. They are such great kids =)
my fun niece Reagan, so full of personality
Kennedy wasnt too excited with the slip n slides, so I brought this around for her and she was much more satisfied with the actual slide.
Now Im sitting here waiting for Kennedy to go to sleep. She fell asleep on the way home from the party and then slept in her bed for about an hour and now its 1046 and she is wide awake watching Toy Story 2. She has had this happen before. Every few months she has a weird night where she just doesnt want to go to sleep. It's odd for her, because she is always one to just lay right down and go to sleep, no trouble, at 830 every night. I dont mind nights like tonight though bc I have to admit, I like late night movies cuddling with my girl =)

Birthday Fun @ Music in the Park

Last night Justin came home a little later than expected, so some of my birthday plans for him changed. I ended up packing a little picnic and we picked up some Firehouse subs and then headed to the park to listen to the music and hang out. I thought it was going to rain but it ended up being a gorgeous evening, not hot at all and even a cool breeze.

Me and the Birthday boy
a gorgeous evening listening to music. Dont sit too close though or you have to scream to have a conversation =) We sat far enough back to be able to hear each other...
my silly sister
Kennedy was loving that there was a swing! there are only two though, so you have to take turns, and my one year old doesnt quite grasp this concept just yet...
I come prepared!
Full of Banana Pudding, or as my mom calls it, Naner Puddin
these are Mexican Cascarones. My brother lives in San Antonio and brought them home to me from when they made them for fiestas and celebrations. I had a few left over and thought Kennedy would enjoy breaking eggs full of confetti over her daddy's head =) She did...
but then she just wanted it all over her =)

Well, its Friday! Dont you love four day work weeks!??! Not that I work, but I like Justin only having to work four days nonetheless. Happy Weekend Everybody!

Happy Birthday to the guy I love

he really is my most favorite boy...

why do you ask???

well there are a few reasons

like...

-the way that he LOVES food just as much as I do, and he isnt skinnier than me
-the way that he eats the food I cook, even when its bad, which is about 50% of the time
-the fact that I can go any where in the world, and I know I'll be ok as long as he is there too
-the way he loves me

-the way he loves this little girl
-the way he does anything I ask him to do, even if its just because I dont feel like doing it
-the way when he has a surprise for me, and he just can NOT wait to give it to me and giggles like a child with excitement (sometimes after receiving the surprise, I dont get why he was SO excited, but its still cute)
-the way his eyes are so beautifully blue

-the way he will rub my back or neck at any given time that I ask, which is just about every single night, he has magic hands
-the way that when I looked like this, he still made me feel beautiful

-the way he is so passionate about church ministry and showing people the love of Christ
-the way he deals with me as emotional and hormonal as I am
-the fact that marriage is about compromise, but I dont do too much of the compromising...
-the way he looked at me last night and said, "you're the love of my life"

-the way he is obsessed with funny things like mustaches, Sonny's, the Jags, Apple products and Nascar
-the fact that he never lies to me and he is the most honest person I know (sometimes too honest)
-how hot he is
-how even hotter he looks with a tan

-the way he looks in his Rob Bell glasses
-how good he is with my nieces and nephews, he is such a fun uncle

-the way he wants to be just like his dad
-how good he is at Trivial Pursuit and other games that require useless information
-how he pretty much goes along with whatever I want him too, after a little resistance of course...
-how handy he is around the house,
I hesitate to use the word professional but he could pretty much fix anything
-how fun he is

-the way he kisses me
-the way he gave me everything, I could ever want...
hey, thats 27 things! Well, I had 29, but I figured since he is 27 today, I should make it 27. Did I mention he's 27...just wanted to get that out there so he couldnt lie about how young he is =)

I love you baby! Have a HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
