fun with Aunt Afton

We had so much fun last week when Aunt Afton came to visit. She was such a blast for Kennedy. I remember what it was like to be 20 and full of energy still...she really was so fun! Kennedy loves her Aunt Afton and really knows who she is now bc they had so much one on one time. It was good for them to bond =)

Jo and Brant were in town for a day on their way to vacation in Panama City. It was great seeing them and getting to kiss on Jo...I mean Brant...
After we had breakfast with them, we headed to the Naval Air Museum. My new favorite place to take Kennedy! Her and Afton had fun running around while I relaxed and let someone else entertain her for a  while =)

cheese!

busy busy

This weekend wasnt nearly as jam packed and busy as last...so I dont think I took pictures of anything or remember too much of what we did. I do however, have a TON from last weekend that I have yet to share, so lets see if I can remember all that fun!

Does YOUR credit union host a movie day back to school party?!?! Well mine does! My sister happens to work there too, so the perks are endless for us. We went to the Silver Screen on Saturday and watched Despicable Me.  hilarious...by the way...

They even had bottomless popcorn and coke. My brother in laws came and brought my nieces and nephews too. The whole fam was there! It was so great!
cant say I've watched a Movie at this joint since oh...1999
Afterwards we went to Sonny's. Kids eat free Saturday! We had the whole back patio to ourselves, considering there were like 15 of us...The kids had fun running around and doing a little song and dance for us.

Who would have thought Chik fil A would have been the place to be last Saturday??!?!?! It was PRINCESS NIGHT! and well, my child has recently become OBSESSED with Princesses. My mom and Sandi called and told me and I really did not feel like going, but Im so glad we did bc Kennedy had a great time and she does love being a princess and seeing princesses. She did NOT however, enjoy the cow costume dude...
Princess Tiana, Belle, and Sleeping Beauty...They werent necessarily the real thing, but K didnt know =)
with our Princess. justin said he didnt understand why wings were "princess" but the tag on them said "Princess Wings"
riding in the carriage! fancy eh?! Im telling ya, Chik went allll out
and a bounce house! Kennedy LOVES these. We will SO be having one of these at her party, barring rain of course
Later that night we headed over to Sandi and Clinton's for yummy dinner. I LOVE when people invite us over for dinner bc well, most people cook better than I do...and I dont have to do any work =) It's always a good time at their house though!

Kennedy and Papa picking scuppernongs...I think that's what they are called anyway
Sunday was a special day bc our good friends from Cincinnati came over from their vacation in Destin, to visit! It was beyond fabulous to get to see them. I miss all our Cincinnati family sooo stinkin much. Good thing we are going there this weekend bc I cant take it any longer. I need to see them all! Anyways, we took them to the Oar house, Kennedy had fun feeding the ducks while we were waiting on our food.
Noah, Rick, and Justin
The Anderson's! and us too. I really love them!
After they left, we headed over to my great-niece (yes I have one, not bc Im old but bc my parents are older and I was born late, hence, things happened at weird times) Anyways, I made some bakerella cake pops to take. My first time. They turned out alright, more cute than tasty.
The birthday girl! Enjoying some cake I think =)
Kennedy giving Hayleigh a big hug
Kennedy enjoyed herself at the party. So many goodies!

I told you it was a busy weekend. Im surprised we fit all that in just two days, but it was fun. Thankfully this past weekend was much more relaxing and the weekend coming up is so exciting. I cant wait to see my Ohio friends soon! oh, and did I mention, Im 27 tomorrow...yikes!

wish list

I have a wish list. Do you? Its a constant list I keep and rarely get anything on it, but its fun to look =) My very special 27th bday is right around the corner, so I suppose its not completely moot that I have this little list...anyway, here are some things Ive been eyeing

yep, I know, welcome to the world Jill. I have put it off, bc I was too cheap, and Justin had one anyway. My current phone is however, 'crapping out' and I actually could use a new phone. I may even take my sister in laws old iphone that is just a 3G with a huge crack and water damage. That's how bad my cell is!

I run a 5k four days a week, so I need new shoes about every 4 months according to shoe sellers...I have had my current pair since christmas I think. A new pair is necessary...

Ahhh, boots. I want like ten different pairs, but here is just one that I have had my eye on for a while now. It's almost fall and these would totally get a lot of use out of them =)
this clutch from Oatmeal Lace is adorable! Garnet and Gold! I know Jo, you are drooling right now =)

Speaking of football, I could use a new Jaguar shirt this season...possibly long sleeve. All my others are short sleeved. Maybe a casual sweat or long sleeve t...

Apothecary Jars. For parties of course, and decorating with. They are just so fun

A fun vacation, some place neat that I have never been...maybe NYC...or Cali

Im sure the list could go on...probably means I should stop online window shopping...but hey, its my only time of year when people ask me what I want and I get to look, guilt free =)

on a roll

can you tell that Im making up for those couple weeks that I was MIA and had nooooo posts. Im on a roll people! So...lets see, what has been going on...

I have the funniest little girl. I look at her and think, I really dont know what is better in life! She is just so fun and makes me the happiest gal in the world. Just tonight she was running around singing the ABC's and saying "daddy daddy! I dancin!" it was SO funny and SO cute! I just love her! She is so full of energy and likes to have fun. Other funny things she does includes saying, "cool" about everything, singing the black eyed peas constantly (but it comes out more "Bum bum buuumm") and saying nipples. Only about Justin's though, thank good ness =/ yikes. She also has a new found obsession with play-doh and princesses. Every day she goes straight to her bin where her play-doh is and asked for me to "op-it." She cant quite say open it, so it all runs together. She also thinks everyone in a fancy dress, or wearing something sparkly on their head, is a princess. I have tried to use this to coax her into wearing bows and headbands, bc princesses do...she doesnt seem to care. Oh well.

The other day when Justin was home for lunch she came in the kitchen and started counting. I thought she was going to stop at 3 and was impressed when she got to 4, then she kept going to 9. We were so proud =) haha! It was neat that we were both there to witness it bc neither of us knew she could do it. The next day we were watching Sesame Street and I realized PBS is responsible for my daughter's counting education bc I know I didnt teach her that and they count all the time on the Street! I shouldnt have been so surprised, she can already say her ABC's. She is just a little sponge.

Kennedy has had TWO explosions this week in which I ended up taking her home from restaurants pantsless, or in a diaper only. Ridiculous...

She LOVES her Aunt Afton. She has been here the past few days visiting and its so cute hearing Kennedy say, "Afton umhere." Umhere is her way of saying come here. I love the way they interact and how cute K saying "Afton" is.

Here she is here with her first lil piggy tails. Her head may or may not be totally red on the back from how tight I had to pull it up in order to make pig tails...she'll have more hair soon enough so we can do it again, pain free =) I think her scalp was slightly uncomfortable.

I just figured that since my last few posts have been mostly pictures, that I would catch you up on her little things she doing these days. I know Nana appreciates that =) I also need to get our videos uploaded on here so you can see her do her front roll. She likes to flip!

I love that girl

fun in the sprinkler

guess who loves playing in the sprinkler?!?!

We recently attemted to improve the look of our yard by adding some sod to the areas that had no grass. We have watered it every morning and every evening, and to no avail. The grass is still dying in certain areas. Some pieces are thick and green, but some are brown and just sad looking. Kennedy has however, enjoyed the watering. She is pretty much not even phased by the fact that she is standing under the sprinkler, fully clothed, dripping wet...she really is just like her momma when I was a kid. I never cared what I felt like, I just wanted to have fun. She always just wants to have fun. I love her. Here are some pictures I snagged real quick the other night.

fully clothed, in the dark

love her =)

Fred, does not like playing in the sprinkler. He does like licking the water off of her though.

and PS, we got more grass, and it is looking much better =)

the Ice Cream Truck

The ice cream truck comes through our neighborhood about 6 days a week. We usually dont go out and wait for it bc even though its insanely loud, I can never tell where it is, and never have the patience to wait. Nanny was here this time though, and she spoils the K with all sorts of goodies. It was no surprise to me that she flagged down the truck! Ha!
of course, later that evening, she also got suckers. It started out as one, then she stole Nanny's
and she's even fighting me for mine!
the girl loves yummy treats!
