where the Princess sleeps =)

so one of the MANY blogs I read is Kelly's. She is doing a little Home Tour every Friday, and I havent really participated but I thought I would this week because its Nurseries, and I JUST redid a bunch of stuff in Kennedy's nursery. If you want to see the way it looked before, you can go check it out here. While I liked it just fine, i wanted to spruce it up a bit more. I was never completely satisfied with it. However, I didnt want to spend any money either. So I just worked with what I had, and maybe spent about $5 for a couple things.

So this is mainly what you see when you walk in. I just love her birdie bedding. Justin's mom bought it for us and we are so grateful bc its adorable! i just love birdies =) I wanted her room to be girly and babyish but not like super baby cheesy. i thought this fit the bill!
her bookshelf and ALLLLL the books, mostly bought by her Nanny. Above her bookshelf you will notice her birdie painting that I did when I was pregnant. Well, at first I thought, less is more, but then I thought, nah, MORE is MORE! and so I added more elements from her bedding to it this past week. I just used paints I already had, so it cost me nothing to redo it!

Before:

After:

Just so you know, I stole inspiration from Kim over at Endless Possibilities. She is much more talented than I, but I try and fake it.

Next up, her many stuffed animals. Why does a kid need so many stuffed animals?? Answer, they dont, but for some reason, they accumulate a TON!

this is where the bitnez goes down, you know...

Ok, well i wanted to highlight this little picture because a family friend, Anne, made this for us. I absolutely love her work. If you want to go check out her stuff just click here Eli Silas Designs. She makes original artwork or a frame for your own picture.

finally, I changed how I had Kennedy's name up on the wall. I just wanted it on a shelf. This is a really lightweight wood looking shelf. I like that its not a big super heavy wooden one, just in case it decides to fall (IT WONT) its nice and sturdy up there. This is what you bought from Hob Lob mom =) love me, nk? Also, i bought those frames at Ikea for just $3, not each, TOGETHER. I heart Ikea =) then I just put a verse in the middle frame, and voila! I like it much better now =) everything may not be level, but im not a perfectionist, so i eyeball everything.
oh yea, and her armoire. no big woop. and of course the bow holder I slaved over, and love =)

well, that concludes the friday home tour. sorry I didnt participate earlier kelly. Im a slacker, and I wont be doing it next week because our home office, is our dining room

Thanks for visiting my crib!!!

I really like the yellow. That's the color I want to do our nursery some day, because we don't want to know what we are having. I like that you turned the yellow girly by adding pink. Such a cute room!

Oh my word! I LOVE the bedding! Pottery Barn, right? I had it picked out to get if I had a little girl, but we had a precious baby boy so plans changed! Ha! It looks gorgeous in Kennedy's room!
